Scientific to host Wisconsin State Picnic on August 27!

The Wisconsin Holstein Association is pleased to announce the Matt and Mandy Nunes Family of Scientific Holsteins, Chippewa Falls, WI, will host the annual State Picnic on Saturday, August 27, 2011. The hosts are looking forward to a day of cows and camaraderie for Holstein enthusiasts from across the state.

Activities will include a morning Golf Outing at the Ojibwa Golf Course in Chippewa Falls, organized by the Young Adult Committee. All ages & golfing experience are welcome to sign up for the 4-person best ball golf outing. Teams will be assigned at random to maximize the fun and interaction. Cost is $40 per golfer. The Picnic kicks off at 11:00 a.m. with an open barn, a judging contest and games for all ages. Lunch will be served at noon followed by the introduction of the Nunes Family, Judging Contest results and the Chippewa County Juniors Fundraiser auction of embryos, semen & misc. items at 1:30 p.m.

Along with the daughters and granddaughters of the 2005 World Dairy Expo Reserve Grand Champion of the Holstein Show, Scientific Debutante Rae, the Nunes Family will also have milking daughters of SS Deuce and Debonair as well as heifers by Destry and Dusk on display. The Nunes farmstead is home to many impressive cows, the lineage tracing back to the greats like Dellia and the Queen of the Breed herself, Roxy.

The WHA State Picnic will be held at 11838 120th Ave., Chippewa Falls, WI. The farm is located five miles north of Chippewa Falls on Hwy 53. Take the Tilden exit, #102. East to County Q and then north on County Q one mile. Turn right on 118th Ave., left at the “T” onto 118th Street and right on 120th Ave. to farm.
